DEPARTMENT OF BUILDING AND HOUSING DEVELOPMENT
Bureau of Planning Maps
The following maps are provided by the Bureau of Planning for convenient reference. Normally requested in person at City Government Center, online access and printing of these maps will save you time and money, and using Adobe Acrobat Reader, you can now print these maps at home or office.
ATTENTION
Take note that property lot lines are not exact, they are approximations and not surveyed. Building footprint information is based upon aerial photography taken in 2003 and does not include updates since that time.
You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader to view and print these maps.

Zoning Map
This map shows zoning districts, which divide the City into areas that define what uses are allowed and the bulk requirements for building in each district. Uses and bulk requirements will have to be checked against the Zoning Ordinance (Section 7-300 of the Codified Ordinances), which is not currently online. Bulk requirements include setbacks (the distance required from a property lot line), height, and floor area ratio (amount of floor area allowed to ground area).

Midtown Market District
This overlay district further defines the types of uses which may be used in this area of the City, focused upon North Third Street between Forster Street and Reily Street.

Special Intensity Districts Map
The SIDs provide further physical limitations to the bulk requirements of the underlying zoning districts.

Flood Plain Map
This map was created using contour information from 1992 aerial photography and information provided within the Flood Insurance Study, by which Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) are created. The 100-year floodplain, shown in blue, is the only regulated floodplain within the City. Any property showing any portion of 100-year floodplain will require special review prior to any construction activity. This is a general guide, with final determination to be made with the FIRM maps and Flood Insurance Study.

Municipal Historic Districts and Architectural Conservation Overlay Districts
The local designation protects the historic architectural qualities of the areas by overseeing alterations to all structures, demolition, and new construction within their boundaries through the administration of building permits. Any building located within one of these districts must have exterior changes reviewed for compliance with guidelines.
National Register of Historic Places Districts and Eligible Districts
These districts are honored with the recognition of being listed or have been determined to be eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. This national level of distinction provides protection through the National Historic Preservation Act and its amendments whenever federal funds are being used for projects within the District. Historic preservation activities within these districts may also be supported by State and Federal funding programs.
