Mulberry Street Bridge

This Project involves the rehabilitation of the Mulberry Street Ramp over South Tenth Street and Paxton Creek, which provides access to the Mulberry Street Viaduct from Cameron Street. The project also includes the patching of the sidewalk concrete of the main spans. The Mulberry Street Viaduct, including the ramp, has been determined eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The Viaduct, constructed between 1907 and 1909 by the Board of Public Works of Harrisburg, carries Mulberry Street (S.R. 3012) over Cameron Street (S.R. 2030), South Tenth Street, Paxton Creek and the Norfolk Southern and Amtrak’s rail yard, to connect midtown Harrisburg to the community of Mount Pleasant (Allison Hill). This project is being sponsored by the City of Harrisburg in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Department Transportation, District 8-0. The Contractor for this project, Panoni , was given a notice to proceed on (date), with an estimated completion date around Thanksgiving.
