ATTENTION! All Beach Volleyball Enthusiasts!
The City of Harrisburg’s Parks and Recreation Department is again bringing a Beach Volleyball League to the City Island Sand Courts. Play will be held Monday through Friday, May through August 2002. Games begin at 5:45 p.m. The schedule is as follows:
Monday nights — Men’s and Women’s Quads, starting May 20
Tuesday nights — Men’s and Women’s Doubles, starting May 28
Wednesday nights — Coed Quads starting, May 29
Thursday nights — Coed Doubles, starting May 30
Friday nights — High School, starting June 7
Some games may be played at Sunshine Park where improvements have been made including a higher fence. The nets cannot be lowered at Sunshine Park; therefore, no Women’s games can be played there. All rain make-ups except Women’s games will be played at Sunshine Park. Teams that need special schedules will be considered but not guaranteed.
Substitute Players: One of each sex for doubles teams; two of each sex for quad teams will be allowed. Substitute players will not be charged to play by the League.
Fees Entry into one division is $45 per person. All additional entries are $30 per person per category.
Each League player will receive ONLY ONE League T-shirt. Substitute players will not receive a shirt; however, shirts can be purchased for $10 each if indicated on the application form.
NOTE: This season due to the limited court space only the first 44 paid teams received for each night will be guarantee entrance into the League on City Island. Those applications received after the League is full will be considered and/or you will be given other options to play; this could be entrance into another night for a new division of play or location. You will be given the choice to accept or not. You will only be notified if you where not accepted into the night you requested.
Registration: Separate rosters must be completed for each team entry. Each player’s name, address, telephone number and E-mail address (if available) must be included.
Note: The City of Harrisburg cannot accept personal checks under the amount of $50.00. Amounts under $50.00 must be received in the form of a Money Order, Cashier’s Check or Certified Check. Thus, it is preferable that checks be made for team entry and not for individuals. Please send registration form and payment to: —Checks payable to “Harrisburg City Treasurer”— to:

Note: Tank tops will be ready for the first day of play. Players must pick up shirts the first night they play. Title “Dig it Loves May Flies.”
Deadline: April 30, 2002. Special requests must be received by April 15, 2002. NO CASH!
Note: Entries received and accepted after the deadline will be charged an additional $20 per entry.
