Tree Planting Scheduled for Earth Day
On Earth Day, Friday April 22, at 10 AM, the Pennsylvania Green Industry Foundation, Inc., producers of the annual Pennsylvania Garden Expo at the Farm Show Complex, will conduct a tree planting at Harrisburg City Island, Mayor Steve Reed announced today. The event will take place along Championship Road on the east side of the Island. Trees to be planted are Red Maples and Dogwood. The trees were purchased from proceeds of the plant material auction held on the last day of the recent PA Garden Expo, March 10-13. Dennis Burd and Terry Bush, officials of the corporation, will oversee the planting. Feature garden designers and builders of the 2005 PA Garden Expo have also been invited to participate in the ceremony. The PA Green Industry Foundation is a non-profit corporation dedicated to the beautification of the Capital City and the promotion of the green industry, the second largest agriculture industry of the Commonwealth of PA. |
