MAYOR REED CUTS RIBBON TO WELCOME CORPORATE UNIVERSITY XCHANGE (CUX) TO HARRISBURGMayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to welcome Corporate University Xchange (CUX) to the City of Harrisburg. The ribbon-cutting occurred at Corporate University Xchange’s new headquarters, located in Suite 201 at the Harrisburg Transportation Center, 415 Market Street. Originally based on Park Avenue in Manhattan, CUX was acquired by Alan and Sue Todd in 2004. CUX was able to relocate to Harrisburg following an investment in the company by Penn Venture Partners in late 2006. Alan Todd, CUX Chairman, said, “On behalf of our Board of Directors, investors, members and employees, we’re very pleased to announce the opening of our new offices in the Harrisburg Transportation Center. Our region’s economic base continues to grow and Corporate University Xchange (CUX) is proud to play a role in that development.” Mayor Reed said that Corporate University Xchange’s reputation and background bring unique business opportunities to downtown Harrisburg. CUX is a premier worldwide provider of corporate university research and advisory services with an overarching goal of maximizing corporate investment in training and development. According to Reed, “We are pleased to welcome Corporate University Xchange to the City of Harrisburg. Corporate University Xchange’s decision to come to the City shows that major national corporations are continuing to see Harrisburg as an important place of business and economic development.” Reed said, “CUX coming to this city has strategic value. It is not just a new corporate entity being here. It is a cutting-edge technology company focused on workforce development, with emphasis on training tech-savvy employees and students for real 21st Century high skill jobs. This is the founding principle behind our having created Harrisburg University. With the University, the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania and CUX being in such close proximity, along with other technology-related entities, Harrisburg has a rapidly evolving Technology Corridor that well positions this city for real growth and significant opportunity.” “When the training and higher education initiatives have a common strategic, real world focus, the result is to both attract employers and jobs that require these skills and to spawn entrepreneurs who create new companies and new jobs,” the Mayor said. Mayor Reed explained that CUX has an extensive national and international client list. Among the global organizations utilizing the services are John Deere, Boeing, Microsoft, WalMart, and ExxonMobile. Additionally, Mayor Reed indicated that CUX continues to expand in size, and recently hired 12 new employees to join its city-based staff. Working with the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania, CUX will soon implement its CorpU TV website, which will use video interviews with corporate executives to provide additional training and developmental opportunities for its clients. “We have a firm commitment to creating new jobs in central Pennsylvania and helping to build the area economy,” said Todd.
