NEW ART STUDIO AND GALLERY DEDICATED IN CITYS MIDTOWN
Harrisburg, PA Mayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to officially dedicate the new Brass Monkey Studio and Art Gallery located at 202 North Street in the Citys Midtown.
Reed said the Brass Monkey Studio and Art Gallery displays and sells original artwork by local and national artists. The multi-faceted art studio also offers customized art on any canvas, including abstract and outsider art. Custom sculptures are also available. The studio additionally offers custom tattooing on an appointment-only basis.
Reed said the Brass Monkey Studio is owned and operated by artists Bryan Campbell and Frank McManus. Campbell is a native of Lebanon, PA and is a classically-trained oil painter whose work has been displayed in the Museum of Fine Art in Washington, D.C. McManus is a native of Harrisburg and has been involved in art-related endeavors his entire life. Together, they represent 19 years of experience in the field.
The Mayor said the opening of the Brass Monkey Studio represents the creation of two new jobs. The owners invested over $5,000.00 into renovations in the studio which included new flooring and molding, fresh paint, window treatments, the sealing of all windows and doors and the installation of both a sink and countertop.
"We are pleased that the Brass Monkey Studio now calls Harrisburg its home," said Reed. "The studio and art gallery join a host of new and longstanding arts-related ventures that have significantly increased the presence and role of the arts in the City."
"Harrisburg has been building a reputation for the quality of the citys arts and artists," said McManus. "We want to be part of that movement and to bring something new to the local art world."
Reed said the "Brass Monkey Studio is open Wednesday through Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. or by appointment.
