ARRESTS MADE IN SEPARATE ROBBERY AND COPPER THEFT INCIDENTS

Harrisburg, PA – Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said that Harrisburg Police arrested three individuals in connection with a robbery and an unrelated copper theft incident.

Reed said Dante Campbell, 19, of the 2500 block of Jefferson Street, was arrested and charged in connection with an armed robbery that occurred on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, around 6:15 p.m. at a retail store in the 2900 block of N. 7th Street.

Reed said a male and female walked into the store and pretended to shop for nearly a half hour before the male produced a handgun and pointed it at the store owner. The store owner was able to flee from the scene.

Through investigation Dante Campbell was positively identified as the perpetrator in the robbery. Warrants were served at Dauphin County Prison where he is awaiting trial from an unrelated incident. He has been charged with robbery, criminal conspiracy to commit robbery, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, and firearms violations.

Reed said the female involved in the robbery has not yet been identified but two photos of her are attached to this release, each of which was pulled from surveillance cameras within the retail store. Anyone with information as to the identity of the female is urged to confidentially call Harrisburg Police at 255-3131.

Reed also said Dwight L. Bullock, 22, of the 1600 block of Hunter Street, and a 17-year-old juvenile male city resident, were each separately arrested and charged in connection with a theft incident that occurred on Monday, September 15, 2008, around 1:35 a.m. in the area of Greenwood and Norwood Strets.

Reed said police were dispatched to the area at that time for a report of a theft. Upon arrival, police came in contact with Bullock and the juvenile. Both of the males were found with a garbage can full of copper wire. An investigation determined that the copper wire was stolen from a business in the area.
Bullock was charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property, corruption of minors, and defiant trespass. He was committed to Dauphin County Prison in lieu of posting bail. The juvenile involved was charged with theft, conspiracy to commit theft, receiving stolen property, defiant trespass and curfew violations. He was committed to the Schaffner Detention Center.
