FINAL ARRANGEMENTS PLANNED FOR HIGH SCHOOL PRINCIPAL EVANGELENE L. KIMBER
Harrisburg, PA Mayor Stephen R. Reed today said that final arrangements have been made by the family of the late Harrisburg High School Principal Evangelene L. Kimber. Ms. Kimber passed away at 11:55 p.m. on Monday, September 15, after being hospitalized on Friday, September 12, 2008.
Reed said both the viewing and funeral services will be held at the John Harris Campus Gymnasium on Saturday, September 20, 2008. The viewing will begin at 8:45 a.m. and will continue until 11:45 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon and will be followed by a repast in the high school cafeterias.
Reed also said the Harrisburg High varsity football game against Carlisle, originally scheduled for Saturday, September 20, has been postponed until Sunday, September 21, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Cougars home varsity field.
Reed said that a Harrisburg High School Alumni Reception originally scheduled for Saturday, September 20, has been postponed until Saturday, October 11, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the receptions originally-planned location.
Reed additionally said that in honor of Ms. Kimber, he has ordered that all city flags be flown at half staff until further notice.
In lieu of flowers, Ms. Kimbers family requests that all donations be made to the scholarship fund honoring Evangelene Kimber. Donations can be sent to The Harrisburg Public School Foundation in the name of Evangeline L. Kimber, P.O. Box 54, Harrisburg, PA, 17108.
